Recommended Databases

The two databases described below will help you prepare to become a U.S citizen, learn new skills, and get ready for tests and jobs. They have many easy-to-use tools, like practice tests, lessons, and study books. You can learn at your own speed and see your progress.

Peterson's Test and Career Prep database

Peterson’s Test and Career Prep helps with test practice and also gives advice for jobs and college. Use this database to help you prepare for:

  • The GED exam, in English and Español
  • The US Citizenship Test

Using the Database

  1. Click on the link above to access the Peterson's Test and Career Prep database. You may have to enter your MCC username and password.
  2. At the very top right corner, click Log In/Sign Up. Enter your email address and create a password. Your login will let you save your work and come back to it later.
  3. To find the test resources you need, click Browse Menu.
  • For GED or High School Equivalency Exams, click on High School, then select High School Equivalency Exams.
  • For US Citizenship or ESL exams, click on International, then select English as a Foreign Language or US Citizenship.

Learning Express Library

Learning Express Library is good for students and adults who want to improve basic skills, get ready for exams, or find better jobs. Use this database for:

  • Interactive tutorials
  • Practice tests, e-books
  • Flashcards
  • Academic skill-building
  • Standardized test preparation
  • Career development

Using the Database

  1. Click on the link above to access the Learning Express Library database. You may need to enter your MCC username and password.
  2. At the top right corner (above the search box), click Sign In/Register.
  3. Enter your email address and create a password. Your login will let you save your work and return to it later.
  4. Select Public Library, College Library or High School Library to access free career and test prep resources.
