What We're Reading

To Kill a Mockingbird (AUDIOBOOK) by Harper Lee

While waiting for a copy of Harper Lee’s Go Set a Watchman to become available at the library, I decided to re-visit her classic, To Kill a Mockingbird. In audiobook form this book is masterful.  Sissy Spacek does a fantastic job of intonating Scout’s “wise beyond her years” questions, proclamations, and provocations. Spacek’s slow as molasses Maycomb drawl is pitch perfect in the muggy late summer heat. A first-rate rendition of a much-loved favorite. - Cynthia

What to do if the Library doesn't have the book you want?

As an academic library, the MCC Library spends most of its budget on assignment-related materials.  We do purchase some leisure reading to promote reading, but not nearly as much as the public libraries. If you want a book not owned by MCC, try your public library. Don't live in a public library district? We can order books for you through interlibrary loan. Purchasing books is, of course, another option.

Got an e-book reader?

Try our OverDrive distribution platform through which users of our library can download popular eBooks and audiobooks.

Log in using your MCC library card number and download to your phone or reader, or access through any web browser.

Want to try an e-reader?

The Library has five preloaded Nooks available for check-out.  Each Nook is preloaded with books from a particular genre (fiction, sci-fi/fantasy, mystery, history, & non-fiction).  To see the titles included on the Nooks, search "nook" in the library catalog.  Ask for the Nooks at the Circulation Desk.
