Donations

The McHenry County College Archives gratefully acknowledges the generous support of community, administrative, student, staff, and faculty donors in the development of the McHenry County College Archives collections. Any questions regarding potential donations should be addressed to the Archivist.

Materials Accepted

As the official repository for McHenry County College, archival records are received either by transfer from offices and departments or by the private donation of students, faculty, staff, trustees, administrators, and the broader community. Records for inclusion within the Archive include materials in print, digital, or electronic format, created, received, or accumulated by a unit or individual employee of McHenry County College while conducting College business, or by a member of the broader community. The following records will be considered to provide an unbiased account of the history and development of McHenry County College over time:

  • Newspaper Clippings
  • Books, Memoirs, Diaries, Scrapbooks, Notebooks, Biographies, and Autobiographies
  • Professional Correspondence (colleagues, publishers, professional organizations, and students; with permission)
  • Course Syllabi, Student Papers, or Projects
  • Student Senate, Group and Organizational Papers (founding documents, agendas, minutes, reports, newspapers, brochures, notices, posters, announcements, programs, and flyers)
  • Faculty Research and Presentations (publications, articles, books, reviews, and speeches)
  • Departmental, Board of Trustees, and Committee Records (agendas, minutes, reports)
  • Administrative and Trustee Papers (founding documents, agendas, minutes, reports, newsletters, annual reports, plans, magazines, catalogs, brochures, notices, programs, posters, announcements, and flyers)
  • Departmental, Unit and Faculty Association Papers (founding documents, agendas, minutes, reports, newsletters, annual reports, plans, magazines, catalogs, brochures, notices, programs, posters, announcements, and flyers)
  • Campus Event Publications (notices, programs, posters, announcements, and flyers)
  • Audiovisual Materials (recorded lectures, speeches, discussions, and interviews; with permission)
  • Photography (prints, negatives, slides; with permission)
  • Ephemera, Buttons, Memorabilia
  • Other Materials upon Appraisal
