In small groups, evaluate your assigned source using any of the strategies or criteria you learned about today.
Click the plus sign above each source to answer the following questions:
- Evaluate: is this a credible source? How do you know?
- Assess: what are the strengths and limitations of this source?
Choose someone in the group to be the notetaker during your discussion of the sources. The notetaker can add your group's comments to the Padlet.
As you evaluate the sources, think about the following to help you:
- Who is behind the source?
- What evidence do they provide?
- What is the purpose of the information? (Some examples: To inform? To share an opinion? To sell a product/service? To entertain? To share research?)
- How current is the information? If it's older, does it have some historical value?
- What kind of publication process did it go through?
