Requesting Library Materials

To check out a calculator:

  • Visit the library table outside A212 during library hours or place a request through the library catalog.

To request items through the library catalog:

  1. Go to the library catalog 
  2. Click on sign-in (upper right corner)
  3. Choose your patron type:
         Students and Staff
         Community Users
  4. Search the catalog using the search box.
         If it is an item in our collection, click "request."
         Students and employees can also request materials from other I-Share libraries by selecting "I-Share."
         Click "Send Request."
  5. Look for an email notification when your materials are available for pickup. Please allow at least 24 for items to be available.

  • Include your name, library card number or student ID, book/magazine title, and author.

Checking Out Library Materials

Library Cards - To check out library materials, you need an MCC Library card. This is separate from your student ID card. Library cards are free and available to all students of MCC and community members over the age of 16 who live within the college district. With a valid photo ID or student ID, you can sign up for a library card at the Circulation Desk.

Renewals - Most items may be renewed, as long as there are no holds, blocks, recalls, etc. Contact the Circulation Desk at 815-455-8533 or  log in to your account in the library's online catalog to renew your items.

Returns - Return materials to the MCC Library at the following locations: Library Circulation (A212) or the return box located outside Building A Entrance.

Interlibrary Loan - Didn't find what you were looking for at MCC or from another I-Share library? Ask Library staff how to place a hold on materials from other libraries. Ask Circulation for more details.
