Radiologic Technology Research Guide

About This Guide

The MCC Library offers a variety of digital resources specifically designed to help you excel in your Radiologic Technology coursework. Here are two valuable library resources you can rely on throughout your program.

CINAHL Ultimate (EBSCO)

  • What it offers: Full-text access to more than 2,000 current journals covering over 50 fields, including nursing, radiologic technology, and other allied health professions. Articles include research studies, clinical reviews, case reports, career guidance, and patient care recommendations.
  • How to use it: Use CINAHL Ultimate for assignments, research projects, and staying current with best practices in patient care, imaging procedures, and healthcare trends. It’s especially helpful when you need peer-reviewed, evidence-based information about radiologic sciences, anatomy, patient safety, or new technology. Start searching with keywords like “radiographic positioning,” “patient care in radiology,” or “CT safety guidelines.” Filter for full-text and recent articles.

Human Anatomy: Gale Interactive

  • What it offers: An immersive online platform with interactive 3D models of the human body. Lets you explore and “dissect” anatomical structures virtually, examining bones, muscles, organs, and entire body systems in detail.
  • How to use it: Use this database to better visualize anatomy and understand structures you’ll encounter in radiology, such as bones, joints, chest organs, and cross-sectional views. This is ideal for studying for exams, preparing for labs, or enhancing your knowledge of how anatomy appears in various imaging modalities (like X-ray or CT). You can rotate, zoom in, and interact with models—try focusing on regions relevant to your current courses or clinical experiences.

Tip: Both resources can be accessed online using your library’s portal. Use them to support assignments, improve your understanding of radiologic techniques, and prepare for both coursework and clinical practice.

Remember, the library is here to help you along the way! If you have a research question, use the Get Help from a Librarian tab to start a chat or schedule a research appointment.
